Aesop's Fables: The Wolf and the Crane - In this Story we will learn gratitude or reward should never be expected from a greedy and evil person.
The Wolf and the Crane story
Once, a greedy and cunning wolf lived in a forest. One day while he was eating, a bone got stuck in his throat. He tried a lot to get it out, but he couldn't succeed in his effort.
The wolf began to moan in pain. The pain was unbearable. The wolf got worried and thought, "The pain will go away. But, if the bone doesn't come out, I can't eat anything. I'll starve to death." The wolf began to think of a possible solution to the problem.
Around the forest, moaning in pain. I will reward the one who removes the bone from my throat.
Crane saw her miserable condition and agreed to help her. He inserted his long beak, and in the process, pushed half of his neck deep into the wolf's throat and pulled out the bone. The wolf was very happy to pull the bone out of his throat. The crane did his job. Then Crane said, "Give me my reward."
"What Reward?", said the wolf. "You put your head into my mouth and I let it out safely. That's should be reward enough for you. Now get lost, otherwise, I'll kill you and eat your flesh."
The crane walked away. Disappointed.
Moral of the story:Gratitude and greed do not go together. Do not expect any reward for serving the wicked.
